Great look, Mediocre Quality By Jkarb I do not typically post reviews, but realized during my researching of this product that no sites had any reviews on it. Here goes...hope this helps someone else.Took a chance and purchased this unit to house a 42" plasma TV (60+ lbs) in my bedroom corner & did not want a stand w/ too much wood that would compete w/ my cherry-ish wood furniture, yet would still match close enough. I also needed something that was tall in height, as my bed is tall. After MUCH research, this was essentially the only stand that fit the height criteria & only had slight wood in front w/ the look of floating glass shelves.The appearance is GREAT! Color matched very well to my furniture (fairly true color match to what you see online) and TV looks great in corner. Glass shelves also add a great look without being too modern.The issue I have is quality. For something that costs in the $200+ range, I expect good quality.1) I had to exchange my first shipment because the wood legs were a bit damaged in front. 2) I received my 2nd exchange shipment days later (Thx, Amazon!!) but even with this, the newer wood legs came just slightly damaged/not sanded on 2 corners. I decided to live w/ the slight damage as it's hidden enough and I REALLY wanted this stand to work for me. Also, the small middle shelf mirror had some lines etched into it that can't come out (was NOT dirt - definitely inside glass). Luckily, I still had the 1st package at home and swapped out the middle shelf mirror from that package and it was great. Had this not been the case, I think I would've given up on the entire system - though it truly looks great! Also, the unit is slightly rocky w/ my heavy TV on it, though it supposedly could withstand double that TV weight. I suspect that any stand would rock w/ a heavy TV but I won't be rocking it so should be stable & just fine!Also, set up took about 1-1.5 hours. Not too bad at all, but just requires patience & inspecting each piece you get.To sum it up...unit looks great and you might take a chance w/ what quality parts you get in your shipment, but it should all work out with some patience and Amazon's great policies! Well it turned out that, it looks like it was made perfectly for the TV. I really like the black glass, sharp looking! Also it had squared corners so when you walk by it you don't run it to it. It takes up hardly any room. I am so happy with the great on time delivery with everything I purchase from Amazon. Buy it......it looks classy!!! It was well worth the price!!! It's very nice, and aesthetically pleasing. The only dislike I have (which is more of a personal pet peeve and not a design flaw) is that the front of the stand (in the center between the cylindrical supports) is not as wide as I expected it to be. I have a DVR box through DirectTV, which fits perfectly fine, but there is only about 10-12" of space remaining along the side of it, so the only thing I can fit next to it is my center channel speaker. My DVD player sits on the shelf below it (instead of beside it as I would have prefered ) because there is not enough width for them to fit side by side. The ONLY thing on the top shelf was my Sony Bravia 40" LCD KDL-40EX400 which weighs in at 39lbs. A month ago, my friend and I were sitting and having a conversation and there was a sudden explosion-like sound and black glass chunks sprayed the entire room (there was no actual explosion, it was just the tempered glass giving in and shattering). It just gave out on its own, the tv wasn't even operating, and it sprayed glass a good 5 ft. Fortunately the TV survived, but my children and I are still getting glass slivers in our hands and feet because its seems this tempered glass is impossible to completely locate and pick up in carpet. Putting it together was not too bad, although 2 people are certainly needed to do that more efficiently, since the unit is pretty heavy. The stand itself is very stable, the drawers are great for storing DVDs, TV and equipment manuals...etc. The only improvement I would suggest would be making the drawers slide in and out more easily by having them installed on a roller. A Great Value By A Customer One of the main reasons I purchased this TV stand was for its modern and contemporary style. Also, the fact that it has 2 drawers for storing DVDs and other accessories. The price was also very reasonable. Quality wise, it is very sturdy and acceptable. Assembly was pretty strait forward and without any problems. The stand arrived in two separate boxes. The only issue I have with this stand is its very heavy weight. Once assembled as directed (from the bottom up) it was tricky turning it right-side up without breaking the glass (mostly due to its weight). But with patience and some extra help I was able to do that safely. Over all I am very pleased with my purchase, the assembled unit does look exactly like the picture shown. The big problem, however, was the cheaply-made drawers. They didn't seem in keeping at all with the materials used in the rest of the stand. The real problem, however, was that everything (especially the glass parts) was packed very well for shipment *except* the drawers. As a result, the screws had pulled out of the particle-board front and back, and the front and back had partially disintegrated. The drawers were unusable.
