It matches my other oak furniture perfectly and the fireplace unit makes for cozy ambiance. It was very easy to put together and I got it together in a couple of hours. Assemble yourself furniture in REAL wood (not veneers) By Rick V BackgroundThis is the second in a series of reviews of various items in the Delano collection of furniture that Target sells. We have bought the Desk, chair, large bookcase, media center and pinter stand (using it as a nightstand). All of those will have their own similar review on here.We wanted to finish a guest bedroom without breaking the bank and we were also in the market to find a little bit of quality rather than the obligatory particle board junk that is being sold online.The style we were looking for was 'chameleon', i.e. we wanted it to fit in various environments from classic to modern.After looking around...... we found the Target Delano collection. It comes in an office, livingroom and bedroom variation with the only thing really missing from the collection being and actual bed ( we solved that by finding a great matching item online, see bottom note).The delano collection is very versatile in its design. We have a semi-modern interior and it fit right in, but it could also be pictured in a more classically decorated home. It is almost fully made from Pine wood. This is a softer wood (as opposed to a hard wood) and used to keep costs down a bit. The catch in that? You just need not drop heavy items on it as it can dent.It is in a black finish with some edges faded with a tiny bit of dark red shining through. Invisible from 2 feet away but up close it gives that 'antique' finish effect.AssemblyThis media center comes with 2 drawers and an open shelf and is delivered in a box with assembly instructions. It consists of 10 parts or so with a pictorial assembly instruction. Note that there is NO TEXT instruction but little handdrawn pictures. Having assembled multiple pieces of the collection (the Desk being the hardest) we found that the instruction pictures are 100% accurate. The devil is in the detail: make sure you lay the parts out per the picture and basiclly dry fit the item. If you do that you will find that this is relatively easy (alone in 40 minutes) to assemle. Again, if not handy find someone that is to help as I would not recommend a first time DIY furniture buyer to easily put this together (but they could). Note that all screws etc come clearly labeled with letters. It really is very accurate!CraftsmanshipAll parts and screws fit perfectly in the predrilled holes. Everything alignes perfectly. The wood is solid and great quality. The item is heavy and solid, therefore. It is shipped with lots of styrofoam protection and really came in in perfect condition. Look for the free shipping actions on Target!Finally:I recommend this whole set as everything we bought was VERY affordable and in real wood. The bedroom gets LOTS of compliments.Note:go to O (add verstock) and look for a bed called the Griffin bed. It matches very well in style, material, price and color. Awesome behemoth TV stand By GeekMom My husband was worried when he tried to pick up the shipping box and struggled with it. But I just bought a TV that weighs 120 pounds, so this needed to be sturdy. It is. And it was easy to assemble, with no extra parts to make you worry you missed a step. When I was done, I had a stand that is as durable, as neatly squared, and as beautiful as a fully manufactured piece. The color is a little darker than the web page shows, which was fine, as I wanted a darker one anyway, and thought I was settling for "close enough". I'd looked high and low for something similar both in high-end stores and discount stores without luck. The wood is a bit darker than the picture, but otherwise I have been extremely pleased....it's exactly what I wanted! It came very well packaged which was a definite concern of mine. It's well built, practical and other than being slightly darker than expected, it's perfect. Nice Furniture, careful who you order from By Jessica Link I bought this console in 2010 from Moshya Home Furnishings. It's a really nice console sofa table, good size. Wish the gap underneath was a little higher so my Roomba could fit under is but I "fixed" it by putting blocks under it. I used the baskets for shoes. I was worried about scratching the bottom shelf up so I found brown squishy shelf linear material to put there - works real well. I do a little stained glass work so I plan to replace the glass in the doors with my own work. Glass is in there with pressed in rubber seals so holds well (no rattles) but will be easy to remove and replace. Another item of note is the finish is darker than in the picture - I would describe it as espresso; brown but close to black. It has a nice satin finish. It wipes down well and I know there because we keep dog supplies (i.e. leashes, treats, brushes - all things they love) in the two center drawers. The dogs get excited every time we open these drawers and put their snotty noses all over the edges. But like I said, wipes down nicely.The down side is it did arrive with a little damage - a hairline crack in one of the wood of the side doors and a scuff on a corner. I asked Moshya Home Furnishings if they could track down a replacement door for me. After months of back and forth emails; me explaining the damage and asking for a door; them saying they were working to find me one - I got nothing. Right around the time they stopped responding, the window for vendor review on product delivery had closed. Convenient for them. So lesson learned. If you order furniture and it arrives damage, don't try to be helpful by just requesting a replacement part - just send the whole thing back and try again. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. It is typical of many low-end, mass produced modular furniture peices on the market. All wood pieces are "veneer" over partical board. The pieces are assembled with manufactured hardware (metal dowels and metal locking nuts that you insert into predrilled holes on each wood peice). The hardware is specifically designed for the unit so don't lose any! There are about 30 or so wood peices and at least 100 differene peices of hardware. It's best to spread it all out prior to construction.The instructions are a small printed, so some care is needed in making sure you're working on the right peice during each step. And it it can be hard to tell which side you're supposed to be instering the hardware on some peices. No worries though, the hardware removes easy enough when you make a mistake.Overall assembly took about an hour with the help of another adult.The finished product looks very nice, and the shipping process resulted in only a few minor blemishes - which is really good considering we live on an island in Alaska and it came through UPS, which means it got transfered from manufacturer, to truck to jet, to float plane and then to ATV BEFORE it reached our post office... Good packaging, which definately took some abuse in shipping.The unit is smaller than I expected but has a surprising amount of space. The corner design also fits tightly into the corner, which makes it look even smaller. Which could be a really good thing for a small house or apartment. And still it provides great storage for components. It fits our 42" Panasonic Flat screen with a few inches to spare. Has room for a PS3, a home theater receiver, DVD and VCR and the kids Wii. However, media storage is limited so you might find yourself looking for a media shelf or cabinet in which to store all your movies/games.In summary, this is well worth the $229 we paid. By Greg I spent quite a bit of time looking around for a corner TV stand that had some sort of shelf above the TV. I settle upon this one because of the price point, the look, and the reviews I had seen. First of all, the product shipped very securely. I didn't have any problems at all with chipped or broken pieces. Everything looked great right out of the box. I found the construction quality to be really pretty good for this type of product. It seems very stable. My biggest complaint about the product is the assembly instructions. In similar assemblies in the past, each step has its own page to help illustrate the correct assembly. Not so in this case. Often times there were three or four steps per page. With the diagrams being so small, I found it taking lots of extra time to put this together. To be fair, this is an annoyance during assembly, but doesn't impact the quality of the end product. All in all, both my wife and I are very pleased with the look and quality of this entertainment center and would recommend it to anyone.

Now I'm not sure what crazy definition of mahogany they were looking at but this is about as far from mahogony as it gets. More like, orange pine. By Greg Boden I love it because there was no assembly and still think it looks nice, but it didn't take much for a 2-yr-old to bump against one of the doors to have it rip off...not even at the hinges! It ripped off in the middle of the wood. The manufacturer offered me a discount on a new unit--can you believe that? I paid over $1000 only 8 months ago and get a discount on a new one? How ridiculous. There is NO repairing it. I now have to take the doors off both towers to make it even looking. I never give business to companies that don't offer more practical and better serving solutions to problems with the merchandise so I advise you to stay away from this company. It's very sturdy and it holds my 42" LCD, but I ordered it knowing it only holds a 36". The weight limit is 80 lbs so if your TV is bigger than 36" and weighs less than 80 lbs it'll be alright. I think it looks better in person than online. Better in the picture than in reality By laski I received this a couple of days ago. It turns out it can only hold up to 36" panel tvs, which was a disappointment since I had a 47" one. Assembly was generally straight forward, but some of the instructions were not clear. For example, you are supposed to flip the middle part and attach it to the three wooden support parts between the middle and the base (see the picture), but the problem is that you are supposed to place wooden dowl pins on the middle part, and these simply kept falling off. In the end I simply put the dowls on the three wooden parts instead and then placed the middle parts on them.Another issue was the fact that you simply can't attach the back part to the tv stand. There are no holes for the nails to go in in the middle parts which the back attaches to! So I just left the stand without the back. All in all assembly took around 30 minutesThe stand looks nice, but it isn't sturdy. I put my tv on it anyway, and it seems to hold it, I just pray though nothing shakes it!Honestly, I wish I had bought another TV stand. This might work well if you have a small TV or for your kids, but there are much better TV stands out there within the same price range, and definitely ones that are easier to assemble and have clearer instructions. Ridder Although this product did take far more time to assemble than most DIY projects, it was well worth the effort. Arrived in good shape with all parts intact. There are several mounting options and a wide variety of viewing angles available. The mounting allows for horizontal and vertical motion to find the ideal viewing angle. One reviewer mentioned shelf height issues (veritcal space for your equipment) but I had no issues with new and 15 yr old DVD players, home theatre amplifiers, etc. This unit IS HEAVY (remember I said it was well built), so I recommend moving the unit into place before adding the heavy glass shelves. It fits great in a corner and looks much richer than the huge majority of those costing several hundred dollars more. Being a guy, I was looking for function, but your much better half will find this a very attractive piece of furniture, unless she prefers cubbies or orange crates.... 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. I'd looked high and low for something similar both in high-end stores and discount stores without luck. The wood is a bit darker than the picture, but otherwise I have been extremely pleased....it's exactly what I wanted! It came very well packaged which was a definite concern of mine. It's well built, practical and other than being slightly darker than expected, it's perfect. Nice Furniture, careful who you order from By Jessica Link I bought this console in 2010 from Moshya Home Furnishings. It's a really nice console sofa table, good size. Wish the gap underneath was a little higher so my Roomba could fit under is but I "fixed" it by putting blocks under it. I used the baskets for shoes. I was worried about scratching the bottom shelf up so I found brown squishy shelf linear material to put there - works real well. I do a little stained glass work so I plan to replace the glass in the doors with my own work. Glass is in there with pressed in rubber seals so holds well (no rattles) but will be easy to remove and replace. Another item of note is the finish is darker than in the picture - I would describe it as espresso; brown but close to black. It has a nice satin finish. It wipes down well and I know there because we keep dog supplies (i.e. leashes, treats, brushes - all things they love) in the two center drawers. The dogs get excited every time we open these drawers and put their snotty noses all over the edges. But like I said, wipes down nicely.The down side is it did arrive with a little damage - a hairline crack in one of the wood of the side doors and a scuff on a corner. I asked Moshya Home Furnishings if they could track down a replacement door for me. After months of back and forth emails; me explaining the damage and asking for a door; them saying they were working to find me one - I got nothing. Right around the time they stopped responding, the window for vendor review on product delivery had closed. Convenient for them. So lesson learned. If you order furniture and it arrives damage, don't try to be helpful by just requesting a replacement part - just send the whole thing back and try again. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. It is typical of many low-end, mass produced modular furniture peices on the market. All wood pieces are "veneer" over partical board. The pieces are assembled with manufactured hardware (metal dowels and metal locking nuts that you insert into predrilled holes on each wood peice). The hardware is specifically designed for the unit so don't lose any! There are about 30 or so wood peices and at least 100 differene peices of hardware. It's best to spread it all out prior to construction.The instructions are a small printed, so some care is needed in making sure you're working on the right peice during each step. And it it can be hard to tell which side you're supposed to be instering the hardware on some peices. No worries though, the hardware removes easy enough when you make a mistake.Overall assembly took about an hour with the help of another adult.The finished product looks very nice, and the shipping process resulted in only a few minor blemishes - which is really good considering we live on an island in Alaska and it came through UPS, which means it got transfered from manufacturer, to truck to jet, to float plane and then to ATV BEFORE it reached our post office... Good packaging, which definately took some abuse in shipping.The unit is smaller than I expected but has a surprising amount of space. The corner design also fits tightly into the corner, which makes it look even smaller. Which could be a really good thing for a small house or apartment. And still it provides great storage for components. It fits our 42" Panasonic Flat screen with a few inches to spare. Has room for a PS3, a home theater receiver, DVD and VCR and the kids Wii. I settle upon this one because of the price point, the look, and the reviews I had seen. First of all, the product shipped very securely. I didn't have any problems at all with chipped or broken pieces. Everything looked great right out of the box. I found the construction quality to be really pretty good for this type of product. It seems very stable. My biggest complaint about the product is the assembly instructions. In similar assemblies in the past, each step has its own page to help illustrate the correct assembly. Not so in this case. Often times there were three or four steps per page. With the diagrams being so small, I found it taking lots of extra time to put this together. To be fair, this is an annoyance during assembly, but doesn't impact the quality of the end product. All in all, both my wife and I are very pleased with the look and quality of this entertainment center and would recommend it to anyone.
