Pro: well engineered, all pre-drilled holes right on. While pressed board with a dark laminate wood finish, it looks good assembled. I saw assembled tables in $400-700 range that couldn't match the quality of this unit. Cons: I'm pretty handy with tools, assembling, etc. and it took me 4-5 hrs, but can be assembled by most anyone if you follow the easy to read diagram. Buy a small container of wood glue, you need it, because the 2 tubes sent were rock solid. Have a wet cloth available to wipe off excess glue from surface before it dries as you are required to use about 20 wood dowels in putting some pieces together. Be careful in middle shelf assembly. If not you end up with unfinished end of middle shelf(just above pull out drawers) facing out. Diagram really doesn't show this potential problem area. Don't buy it! By Johnny Wong Received the item on time, but there was a crack at the front of the bottom panel. Called Amazon.com and they sent me a replacement on the next day. However there was a crack again at the front of the bottom panel. The crack was bigger than before. Don't want to deal with another replacement and returned it to Amazon.com. The product was damaged--pieces broken and top scratched. We have glued it together and made the best of it, as the thought of boxing up a kazillion pieces extremely heavy pieces into another box (since the one it shipped in was obliterated) was a little too daunting Hard to know if this is a manufacturer / packing error or the fault of a retired NFL linebacker who now works for UPS. Assembly was challenging. Once it's all done now, it is quite functional. I do wish the DVD/CD storage drawer was designed for blue ray disks though as that's what most of our DVD's are and of course they have a different sized case than the standard DVD's.
